Behaviour-based biometric for security without sensors

Problematic passwords and expensive biometric sensor technology can now be replaced with a cost-effective authentication method from e-Solutions. The new solution identifies users based on individual typing behaviour, including speed, rhythm and agility, which is just as personalised as handwriting.

Remote Biometric Authentication from e-Solutions makes remote network access highly secure and can add biometrics to any online application. The solution analyses typing characteristics and, sensing pauses, mistakes and speed with the help of statistical methods, creates an individual user profile or ‘typing fingerprint’.

With e-Solutions, user authentication is cost-effective as there are no added costs for biometric hardware such as smart cards or sensors. In addition, costs resulting from misuse or theft of passwords or common carelessness are no longer incurred.

“Two factor authentication has become commonplace in confirming remote worker identity. However, it can be cost prohibitive for many organisations,” comments, Angus Stewart, managing director at e-Solutions. “We’re answering this problem with Remote Biometric Authentication, which requires no additional hardware, management costs or user training and can be built into other applications easily.”
