If anyone is trying to add this patch of "Daylight Saving Time Update - North America" from American Dynamics website, here is important information.

For Intellex 2.6, 3.1, 3.2 - Intellex units with software versions 2.6, 3.1 or 3.2 must first be updated to version 3.2 SP1. Download the http://americandynamics.net/support/downloads_20050422_Intellex_32_SP1.aspx and install as outlined in the instructions. Then both the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system and the Intellex software must be updated in separate steps: Download the http://americandynamics.net/support/Download/Daylight_Update/Intellex_W2KWXP_TimeZones_Update.msi following the Download and Installation instructions below. Use the links to select the correct Intellex software for your model of Intellex and follow the Download and Installation Instructions below.

1. Intellex DVMS and LT with Software version 3.x or 2.6 - http://americandynamics.net/support/Download/Daylight_Update/Intellex_DVMS_32_DST_Update.msi

2. Intellex IP with software version 3.2 - http://americandynamics.net/support/Download/Daylight_Update/Intellex_IP_32_DST_Update.exe

Several problems that you will encounter when going through this version upgrade and it is not as simple as this or the documentation available from American Dynamics.

First, make sure that you have version 3.2 SP1 installed and if not, please install before changing or updating anything else.

Second, make sure you install the "Daylight Savings update first before proceeding the next level. Once this update is complete, the Intellex must restart. Once it is in process of reloading Windows and before Intellex software starts, please push down and hold down "CTRL" button on the keyboard, that will stop Intellex to load.

Third, please make a directory on the Windows desktop and call it "Old Intellex shortcuts". Take all the Intellex shortcuts from the desktop and move them to this new directory. In addition, please go to "Startup" in the "Programs" section (hit Start, Programs and then Startup) and delete Intellexlanch function from the Startup directory.

Fourth, go to "Programs" section and delete "Intellex" shortcut.

Fifth, please install Intellex DVMS and LT with Software version 3.x or 2.6. Once it is installed, it will automatically will install the latest Intellex version 3.2.111 that conforms with this update of the Daylight Savings patch.

When the system restarts, it will automatically install the "Intellex" shortcut in the "Programs" section, will install "Intellexlanch" short cut in "Startup" folder in the "Programs" section and also install all the rest of the latest shortcuts on the Desktop...

You can run Intellex from the desktop or by restarting the Intellex or logging off and logging back on and now you will have Intellex performing as intended.

Any deviation from the above procedure will make your Intellex unstable and the system will constantly restart. This has been proven to be the only correct procedure that works flawlessly.

For Intellex 4.x - Intellex units with software version 4.x use the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system. Both the Microsoft Windows XP operating system and the Intellex software must be updated in separate steps: Download the Intellex_W2KWXP_TimeZones_Update http://americandynamics.net/support/Download/Daylight_Update/Intellex_W2KWXP_TimeZones_Update.msi following the Download and Installation instructions below. Then the appropriate Intellex software must be downloaded and installed onto the Intellex unit. Use the links below to select the correct Intellex software for your model of Intellex and follow the Download and Installation Instructions below.

* Intellex DVMS and LT with software version 4.0 - http://americandynamics.net/support/Download/Daylight_Update/Intellex_DVMS_40_DST_Update.msi
* Intellex Ultra with software version 4.0 or 4.03 - http://americandynamics.net/support/Download/Daylight_Update/Intellex_Ultra_403_DST_Update.msi
* Intellex IP with software version 4.0 - http://americandynamics.net/support/Download/Daylight_Update/Intellex_IP_40_DST_Update.exe

No known problems were found in the upgrade of this patch for Intellex 4.x platform.

Just an FYI: the great feature of Net Clients automatic time sync can be your worst enemy in this case if you do not properly update all net clients. For some reason I had 2 net clients doing time sync. Both net clients got the net client DST update but 1 did not get the windows DST update. So when the old DST date came up all intellex units improperly changed times. Our contractors could not figure out. Next DST it improperly did the same thing again, I ran an activity report on net client and found the problem.

Just wanted to share this because unless you regulary review video and/or check status of intellex units you might not catch a problem like this.

Excellent observations... Here is some more additional information.

First and foremost, you have to make sure that your Intellex system contains two separate patches as described above... In one of your posts, you mentioned that your Intellex systems were below version 3.2... and the trick is to apply both patches and take them to version to 3.2.111... which will be the confirmation that your have done both Daylight Savings patch and then upgrade the Intellex to adhere to it...

Now, lets say that your remote machine using Network Client automatically received the Windows Update pertinent to Daylight Savings update, the main problem it poses is that Remote Machine is not in sink with the Intellex, if Intellex does not have both patches... and that is where the confusion starts.

Do you know if your Intellex machines were updated and upgraded to version 3.2.111? If not, then that should be the starting point. Once this task is complete, then you can verify if your remote machines have (I think you said that one of them did) of the Microsoft version of the Daylight Savings patch... Once both are complete, there should be no time lapse issues at all as you connect the Intellex system...

By the way, how long have you been using Intellex platform?
